Medium Term Plan
Our key text next half-term is ‘The Princess & The Pea’, fairytales, writing and our visit to Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse being at the heart of our curriculum. We will be learning about our families, roles of people in our society and the jobs they do, studying the work of artist Frida Kahlo to inspire our own artwork, using books and stories to learn about the past and castles, and designing and making our own milkshakes!
In maths we will be using numbers to 10 to make up different models, consolidating our knowledge of number facts (doubles, number bonds to 5 and 10, and odd and even numbers). We will also be developing our spatial reasoning by programming robots and describing routes through simple pathways and mazes.
Our theme for circle times will be ‘Changing Me’, where we will learn about our different body parts, their function and how we keep our bodies healthy. This will lead into preparation and transition for the new school year and year 1.
We are excited to be taking part in forest school again this half-term. Forest school will continue to be every Monday morning, so the children will need to come dressed in old warm clothes and have their wellies and waterproof suit available in school. The children who have yet to take part in our taster swimming sessions will continue this half-term. Children will have PE on Thursday's this term and will need to come into school wearing their kit. We have our trip to Gressenhall on Thursday 13th June and 'Community Day' taking place on Friday 21st June. Lots to look forward to! Continue to check out our weekly timetables to keep an eye on the learning that will take place each week and don't forget to click on the home learning tab weekly to see how you can support your child with their learning at home.
