Our story text:
The Gingerbread man
Once upon a time, there was a little old lady who baked a gingerbread man.
One sunny morning, the gingerbread man ran out of the house as fast as a rocket!
“Stop, stop little gingerbread man,” shouted the little old woman.
But the gingerbread man shouted, “Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.”
First, the little old lady chased the gingerbread man down the lane until he came to the goat’s field.
“Stop, stop little gingerbread man,” shouted the grumpy goat.
But the gingerbread man shouted, “Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.”
Next, the little old lady and the grumpy goat chased the gingerbread man down the lane until he came to a dopey dog.
“Stop, stop little gingerbread man,” shouted the dopey dog.
But the gingerbread man shouted, “Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.”
After that, the little old lady, the grumpy goat and the dopey dog chased the gingerbread man down the lane.
Finally, he came to a river where he met a fox, a mean fox. “Quick, quick tiny gingerbread man – climb onto my back and I’ll carry you across.”
So the gingerbread man quickly climbed onto his back. “My legs are getting all wet,” moaned the gingerbread man.
“Quick, quick tiny gingerbread man – climb onto my head.”
So the gingerbread man slowly climbed onto his head. “My toes are getting all wet,” moaned the gingerbread man.
“Quick, quick tiny gingerbread man – climb onto my ears.”
So the gingerbread man carefully climbed onto his ears.
“My head is getting all wet,” moaned the gingerbread man.
“Quick, quick tiny gingerbread man – jump onto my nose.” So the gingerbread man stupidly jumped onto his nose.
Unfortunately, the fox ate him up – in - one - big - gulp!
THE END.
