Jasper's Beanstalk

We have loved exploring the story Jasper's Beanstalk together. We have been building our own beanstalks to see how high we could make them and compare and contrast the heights. The children have planted their own bean and taken it home to care for it and watch the beanstalk grow. We are looking forward to seeing how tall they grow too and sharing our photos from home. The playdough has provided lots of opportunities to create beanstalks and count the leaves and make the snails and slugs from the story too. The children have also painted Jasper the black and white cat and talked about what he did on each day of the week to care for the plant. We have also been using our imaginations about what the giant at the top of the beanstalk is like and discussing what else could be at the top to explore.
