Play

Why is play important?

Neurological scientific research shows neural stimulation caused by play behaviours is the mechanism by which the child’s brain calibrates and contextualises their environment. These stimulations establish, create and strengthen neural pathways that allow formation of brain plasticity required for successful learning and development in the future. Brain scans and research have shown that toddlers who are subjected to sensory deprivation such as not playing have large undeveloped areas within their brains.
