Robin Class Home School
Week Commencing
Monday 13th July 2020
Hello Robins,
The final week of home learning before a well-deserved summer break and hopefully a return to school for you all in September!
A huge well done and thank you to your special adult helpers. I know they have helped you with your learning at home whilst trying balance lots of other demands on their time.
My final video message will be on the school website on Monday morning to start the week.
You will find this week’s Robin Class English and Maths activities below. Do what you can, choose a peak challenge to suit you and don’t worry if you don’t have time to finish all of it.
Parents/carers can email me at robin@wicklewood.norfolk.sch.uk with any questions, and you can send me one piece of work a week that you are proud of. All emails must be from a parent email account.
I will continue to provide feedback on any Purple Mash work and comment on your posts of the Purple Mash Robin Class Blog.
I am looking forward to seeing you all very soon.
Have a great week.
Mr Allard

For children in Orange/Yellow/Blue/Grey RWI Groups, watch ‘Read and Hold a Sentence 2’ film and complete the sentence writing activity.
All films will be in separate categories on the YouTube channel.
If you are finding it difficult to fit everything in, please focus on the Speed Sound and Spelling video lessons.
Any spellings can be completed in the home school sharing book, an exercise book or a notebook.
English
For English this week, we will be using a Talk for Writing resource based around a story called ‘Sayeeda, the Pirate Princess’ by Alison Cooper.
On the school website, you will find a Talk for Writing Home School Booklet to download containing the story and activities for the week. This booklet is designed for you to work through together with your special adult helper. I have made a donation to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity on behalf of Robin Class for using this resource.
There are one, two or three peak challenges each day. Remember to choose something which you feel you can do but will challenge you.
Remember to think it, say it, like it, write it and read it again when you are writing. Every sentence needs fingers spaces, a capital letter and a full stop.

If you’re looking for even more pirate activities then look in the booklet to try and find missing punctation and handwriting practice (p11-12), making a pirate hat (p13) and making a pirate map (p18).
You can send me feedback to robin@wicklewood.norfolk.sch.uk but this must be from your adult’s email address.
It would be great to see any work you are proud of on the Robin Class Blog on Purple Mash.
Maths
We will continue to use White Rose Maths learning resources again this week. We will look at describing turns, position and direction with fun maths Friday!

There is a downloadable knowledge organiser on the school website if your child needs support.
If you have access to a printer, then please print out the activity sheet. If you cannot print this document, ask an adult to help you create a frame &/or draw pictures like the activity sheet in your home school sharing book, exercise book or notebook. Adults can help you to use the separate answer sheets to ‘tick or fix’ your work.
