Swift Class Wed 1st April

Hello Swift Class!

Today is our last day of home learning for a little while because it is the Easter holidays starting from tomorrow. I know this Easter holiday is not like a normal Easter holiday but try to have lots of fun at home and in the garden.

Happy Easter
From Miss Harvey 😊

Teach Your Monsters to Read

Just a reminder I have registered the class with the online phonics/reading resource ‘Teach Your Monster to Read’ which can be accessed at https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com/u/5044189

Your child’s logon details are the same as their PurpleMash logins.

I have started your child on one of three levels to suit their ability but they may find the start a bit easy but this will build their confidence before it becomes more challenging as their journey in the online game progresses.

This app is free to use online and for a limited time it is free to download the apple / android app due to disruption caused by coronavirus (usually £4.99). If you use the app then set the star code 5044189

English – spelling

I would like you to practise homophone spellings this week; their, there, know, no, write, right, night, knight, to, two too

Homophones – words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings.

Watch the BBC bitesize video and play the quiz.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zqhpk2p/articles/zc84cwx

Practise writing your spellings in your home learning/notebook. Can you also write each word in a sentence? “Say the sentence, capital letter, punctuation.” Be careful you use the correct spelling for the meaning.

Maths

See separate activities to practise division. This includes a reminder, two levels of practice sheet (write answers in home school sharing book, exercise book or a notebook), guidance if you get a bit stuck and a few questions to check your understanding. All the answers are provided so that you can ‘tick or fix’ your work with an adult.

Can I solve division by grouping and sharing? A bit stuck
Can I solve division questions? Mild option
Can I solve division missing number questions? Hot option

Practise your division recall by playing hit the button – division facts. Practise 2,5 and 10. Challenge – 3! https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

Music

Log into your Purple Mash account (see log in information sheet). Go into to 2Dos and click on 2beat. Last week you practised your rhythm skills with body beats. Today can you create your own rhythms. I have left you a voice message with some top tips! Listen to it when you open the file.

PE

I’ve been doing Jo Wicks workout every morning to start the day, it’s great to see people all over the world taking part. I hope you will join me… https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ
