English

Today, we will look at how to set out a letter. We have not looked at letter writing before so remember that mistakes are part of learning, and make sure an adult helps you. Please see the separate activities which include:-

  • Reading a badly written letter and then looking at a good example. An adult can help read the letter, if needed.
  • Write a simple letter from Lion to Bear saying what happened to him. If you cannot print the letter template, ask an adult to help you create one in you home school sharing book, an exercise book or a notebook.

When writing, remember to think it, say it, like it, write it and read it again.

Choose your writing peak challenge below.

Can I use time connectives in my writing (e.g. first, next, then, after that, suddenly, finally, in the end)?

Maths

See separate maths activities to practise subtracting 10, 20 and 30 using a number square.

This includes a learning reminder, two levels of practice sheet, guidance if you get a bit stuck and a few questions to check your understanding. All the answers are provided so that you can ‘tick or fix’ your work with an adult.

If you have no access to a printer at home, draw/write answers in home school sharing book, exercise book or a notebook. An adult may need to help you set out your work.

An online number square can be found at:-

Science

For our science lesson today, we will check to see what we know about the weather and the seasons.

We will use a video lesson with Miss Harris which can be found at:-

https://www.thenational.academy/year-1/foundation/what-do-we-know-about-the-weather-year-1-wk1-3/#

You will be prompted to stop the video at different points to complete tasks.

Your can record your work in your home school sharing book, an exercise or a notebook.

Music

Why not listen to the 2Explore melodies your classmates created at:-
