Kestrel Class Tue 21st April

For English, continue to follow the Hamilton lessons if you wish. There’s a range of activities, but feel free to dip in and out of the Hamilton activities and those that I post below.

English –

Using your research on a new culture. Create a character that would be part of that culture. Create a character profile, this can be something your draw or could be a mind-map or a picture of a person with labels. I will leave it to you to be as creative as possible. Try to include 3 things they might wear, 3 adjectives to describe their personality and 3 hobbies they might enjoy. Anything else you can add is a bonus!

Maths –

Use the link below to continue to follow the White Rose Maths coverage, if you do not have access to a printer to print the worksheets (or perhaps if you are wanting to be considerate of the environment) you may wish to pick 3 exercises and copy them into your home learning book. Please continue to work through these activities.

If you are unable to access this, try completing the following:

Use 100% to represent the value of 1 whole in this instance.

Use decimals, fractions and/or percentages to create the following values:

Example 1) 4 = ½ + 1.5 + 75% + ¼ + 100%

  1. 3
  2. 3.4
  3. 6 ¼
  4. 2.8
  5. 125%

Greater Depth: Can you make the above numbers using a unique combination that mixes decimals, fractions and percentages? How many different ways can you do this? For example: 3 = 1.5+1 ½

Challenge:

If you complete the challenge, have a go at writing a similar one of your own.

PE –

Challenge yourself to get your family active. Create a poster that tells them all about the benefits of exercise, then get them to exercise with you for 30 minutes, doing an activitiy of your choice that raises your heart rate!

DT:

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is Earth day! Collect some leaves outside, use a pencil, crayon, paint etc, to create an imprint of the leaf. You can paint onto the leaf then press it onto a page or you can place the leaf under a page and then colour over it to reveal the pattern of the leaf on your page or you could simply draw the leaf from sight, thinking about all the unique features the leaf you chose has.
