Swift Class Mon 30th March

Hello Wonderful Swift class

I hope you had a lovely weekend and a well-earned rest from school work. Mr Tidy Bug has been busy with extreme reading. He found a great spot out in the garden with the spring flowers.

I hope you are all safe and well.
From Miss Harvey 😊

See separate activities to practise adding two-digit numbers. This includes a reminder, two levels of practice sheet (write answers in home school sharing book, exercise book or a notebook), guidance if you get a bit stuck and a few questions to check your understanding. All the answers are provided so that you can ‘tick or fix’ your work with an adult.

Here are the calculation strategies we teach in year 2. Your child can choose which method they want to use.

This half term we have been learning to collage and before Christmas we practised our drawing skills. Can you create a rainbow to display in your window at home? Use any materials you have at home – cut up magazines/newspapers, wool, paper, paint, felt tips, colouring pencils.

You can read more about why people are making rainbows for their windows on Newsround https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/51953553

Look at how to keep safe online with Jessie and friends. See attached resources and activities provided by thinkuknow. This topic is introduced using Jessie and friends episode 2 cartoon followed by some questions to discuss together. Feel free to also watch episode 1.

Then draw a character singing the ‘funny tummy song’. Get your child to write some of the song lyrics with it.
