Swift Class Friday 27th March

Hello Awesome Swift class

How did you get on with your chant yesterday? I wonder what adjective you will choose for today….

Well done, Monster readers. I can see a couple of you have worked really hard on this!

I hope you are all safe and well.
From Miss Harvey 😊

Teach Your Monsters to Read

Just a reminder I have registered the class with the online phonics/reading resource ‘Teach Your Monster to Read’ which can be accessed at https://www.teachyourmonstertoread.com/u/5044189

Your child’s logon details are the same as their PurpleMash logins.

I have started your child on one of three levels to suit their ability but they may find the start a bit easy but this will build their confidence before it becomes more challenging as their journey in the online game progresses.

This app is free to use online and for a limited time it is free to download the apple / android app due to disruption caused by coronavirus (usually £4.99). If you use the app then set the star code 5044189

English – Grammar task

Log into your Purple Mash account (see log in information sheet). Go into to 2Dos and click on English toy shelf. Can you sort the sentences into statements, questions, exclamations or commands?

Quick reminder

  • Statement – Miss Harvey is hungry.
  • Question – Can I have some sweets please?
  • Command – Cook my dinner now. (bossy)
  • Exclamation – What delicious food this is!

Write your own set of each sentence type about this picture in your home learning book or notebook.

Remember to use the correct type of punctation. “Say the sentence in your head, capital letter, punctuation”.

Maths

Go through the attached PowerPoint recapping fact families then complete the tasks on the activity sheet. There are 3 levels of challenge to choose from. Your child could record their work in their home learning book or notepad (saves printing).

I’ve been doing Jo Wicks workout every morning to start the day, its great to see people all over the world taking part. I hope you will join me… https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ

It’s lovely and sunny why not get on your bike or scooter either in the garden or go out for a walk, ride, scoot with your family. Here is a game you could play – just check with an adult you are in a safe place.

Science

This half term we have been learning about animals and humans.

Log into your Purple Mash account (see log in information sheet). Go into to 2Dos and click on Adult and baby animals. You can now create your own animal cards and write a description about each animal. Use the words bank on the left of the screen to help with your writing.

I will be able to read your science cards once you complete it – don’t forget to press save.
